1. What is CDG?
CDG, or Compact Disc with Graphics, is a karaoke music format (or type). Other formats include, Digital Video Disc (DVD) and Video Compact Disc (VCD).

CDG music, when played on a CDG player, will display the words to the song on your TV screen and change color when it is time to sing those lyrics. There are NO video scenes (movies) in the background.

2. Will CDG play on my CD player, DVD player or computer?
Yes, CDG music will play in any CD player, DVD player, or personal computer. However, the lyrics will not be displayed on your TV screen or computer monitor screen.

3. Will DVD or VCD play on my CD player or computer?
In order to play any of these formats, you must have a player that will play that format. Many computers now come with DVD drives in which case you could play DVD. If your player is not DVD compatible, it will not play DVD.

4. Is this the original music?
No. Karaoke music is not the original music. All songs have been re-recorded by the companies to get as close to the original as possible.

5. What does "with vocal demo" mean?
Karaoke discs are made in two different ways, multiplex and non-multiplex.

Multiplex disc's, generally have each song on the disc twice, once with a removable vocal demo singer and once again without the demo singer. Non-multiplex disc's have the song on the disc only once, without the lead singer.

NOTE: CUSTOM CDG'S ARE THE EXCEPTION TO THE MULTIPLEX FORMAT. EACH CUSTOM CDG IN MULTIPLEX FORMAT HAS ONLY ONE VERSION WITH REMOVABLE VOCAL DEMO. YOU WILL NOT GET THE SONG TWICE, WITH AND WITHOUT VOCAL DEMO WHEN ORDERING THE MULTIPLEX FORMAT IN CUSTOM CDG. If you would like the song both with removable vocal demo and without you MUST add the song to your disc twice in both formats.

6. What does "must have vocal changer" mean?
This means the song has been recorded "once" with a removable vocal demo singer. The singer is removable in one of two ways:

  1. By turning off the right channel via the balance control on your stereo system. If you do this you will only hear music coming from the left speaker.

  2. By using the vocal remove or multiplex button on your karaoke player or system. This function is labeled in many different ways by different karaoke player companies. Other names used for this function are; Vocal changer, MPX, Vocal Partner, etc.

7. Will the karaoke recordings have "background singers"?
Almost all songs will have background singers, especially in the chorus and they are not removable.

8. Do the discs come with printed lyrics?
This is a hard question to answer. Several brands do provide printed lyrics, in a lyric booklet, included with the disc. Typically, most multiplex discs (see 5 above) come with a lyric booklet. Most non multiplex disc's (see 5 above) don't come with a lyric booklet.

9. Why can't I find the song that I'm looking for on your Web site?
Although we have many songs, (approximately 75,000) not all songs are available in the karaoke formats. However, keep checking the site as we add new titles just about every other day. When searching our website for song titles, or groups, we have omitted the word "The" from the beginning of a song title or group name.

Therefore, the song; "The greatest love of all," would be found by entering "Greatest love of all." Also, the group "The Beatles," would be located by entering "Beatles."

10. I found the song I want on your search page but I can't find it in the Custom CD section?
Our custom CD library is not as vast as our complete karaoke song library. If the song is not listed in custom you will have to choose that song on a non custom disc. We do add new songs to the custom CD section about once a week.

11. What's is your return policy?
Unfortunately, copyright rules prevent the return of discs once they have been opened. However, we will gladly replace defective items with the identical item (within 30 days). Unopened discs may be returned for store credit (within 30 days).

12. How long will it take for me to receive my order?
We make every attempt to ship orders the same day they are received, if received before 12 NOON PST, in the method chosen by you, on the order form. Ground shipping (within the U.S.) is shipped via U.S. Priority Mail or UPS Ground, which is generally 4 to 5 days to you (non-guaranteed).

Optional shipping methods include UPS Next Business Day, UPS Next Day Saturday, UPS Two Business Day and UPS Three Business Day guaranteed. Business days are Monday through Friday excluding holidays.

13. What about international shipping?
U.S. Global Priority mail or U.S. Express mail is the normal method of shipment for our friends outside the U.S. Delivery time varies per country. Global Priority is typically 4 to 6 days, where Express Mail is generally 3 to 4 days. Typical shipping charge (U.S. Global Priority) for 1 to 4 discs is $15.00 (USD) to most countries.

14. Are there any additional charges applied?
State tax is added to our California customers. Customers outside of the U.S. may have import, customs or V.A.T.(Value Added Taxes) charges imposed by their countries (we do put a customs label on the package, as required).

15. Which company produces the the best music?
This, again, is a tough question to answer.

There are many companies producing karaoke music. Each one trying to "get it just right." They are all a little different and they all believe they did it the best. Each customer has an opinion as to which company (or companies) is the best. As you play your music, you too will form your own opinion, which may differ from others. All companies have their great stuff and they have all produced a "dud." Which are the great ones and which ones are duds? Again, that is your opinion.

16. How do I know what key the song is recorded in?
Generally, the song is recorded in the key that the artist recorded it in. Most companies do not list the key of the song on the box or anywhere else.

Digital Key Changers are available as "built in" to a karaoke unit or as a component that may be connected to your current system. This unit will change the key of the song, but not change the tempo (speed) of the song.
